Provide and promote quality medical support services to M.S.N.’s contracted schools. Promote and maintain school health policies, programs, and services that safely, legally, and effectively address students' physical, social, and mental health needs. Provide first aid to students with medical issues, help prevent physical problems and disease, and coordinate routine assessments based on students' needs.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Collaborate as an active team member in organizational projects as assigned. Work in conjunction with other M.S.N. staff to ensure client needs are met in the most efficient and effective manner.
• Collaborate with local, regional, and state school health advocates to expand the level of knowledge and understanding among educators, parents, and the public of the critical link between health status and a student’s capacity to learn.
• Plan, use professional judgment, and act effectively to carry out the functions of this position within the direction provided by M.S.N.'s mission and goals.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Responsible for providing first aid and medical support for students.
• Responsible for early detection of physical problems and health evaluations.
• Responsible for injury and disease prevention.
• Assists in promoting programs on health education and immunization.
• Maintains records.
• Coordinates vision, hearing, and orthopedic screening and health assessments.
• Provides emergency aid to students and school staff.
• Assists teachers in instructing students in health and nutrition education.
• Collaborate with school administrators and staff in supporting health care needs.
• Coordinate medical-related training.
• Arrange appropriate documentation and authorization for dispensing medications.
• Coordinate health screenings and community partnerships.
• Must have a current state license in one of the following fields: RN, LPN, EMT,
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• A valid driver’s license and current health care provider CPR certification (refer to current state-approved health care provider certified programs) are required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of practical experience in healthcare.
• Knowledge of community agencies to help students and their families.
• Knowledge of school district policies and procedures.

• Demonstrate skills in practical problem-solving, decision-making, and verbal and written communication required.
